Georgia Artists Initiative
Georgia Council for the Arts supports the state’s artists, if not directly through grants, then through the services and programs of the Georgia Artists Initiative.
There are seven programs that support Georgia’s visual artists.
- State Art Collection Website
- State Art Collection Docents Program
- State Art Collection Capitol Loan Program
- State Art Collection Contract Loan Program
- Capitol Gallery Program
GCA also supports the state’s artists by offering the following programs*:
- Touring Artist Roster, for performing artists
- Traditional Artists Roster, for performing and demonstrating traditional artists
- Teaching Artists Bank, for visual, literary, and performing artists with classroom skills
- Arts Education Consultants Bank, for teacher certified curriculum specialists
- Georgia Writers Registry, for published writers
- Literary Events Grants of Georgia
*Because of budget cuts, GCA is not able to fund the adjudication of new artists in these programs in FY2012. We hope to once again bring new artists onto these rosters as soon as our budget allows. Until then, please review the guidelines for the Touring Artist Roster, which is still accepting new artists.
